Listen: Stephen Fry narrates The Handsome Butcher
An exhibition based on a bawdy ballad about love, money and deceit - who better to narrate this than St James's resident Stephen Fry himself?

At the recently launched St James's Market Pavilion, a cabinet of curiosities shines warmly and invitingly. Each cabinet contains a vignette that tells the story of The Handsome Butcher of St James's Market, an 18th century ballad that takes place on that very site.

The Pavilion is now open. To whet your appetite, listen to excerpts of Mr. Fry reading the poem in that famous voice of his.
