St James’s is blooming, and with it comes a wave of new dining options, cultural activities and product ranges for spring.
As the nights draw out and the sun finally appears, here’s our roundup of the season ahead to help you squeeze the most out of springtime in Central London.
The Arts:
If you find yourself in need of a cultured pause, the Royal College of Music’s lunchtime concert series at St James’s Church offers just that. With free performances by rising talent and world-class musicians, there are few better ways to spend your lunch hour.
Also hosted at St James’s Church is a spring programme of musical events, including candlelit performances of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons by the Piccadilly Sinfonietta, and the Petros Singers' take on Monteverdi's Vespers, alongside the English Cornett and Sackbut Ensemble, Monteverdi String Band, and a world-class line-up of soloists.
Looking ahead to April, World Art Day arrives on Wednesday 15th, bringing with it the perfect excuse to celebrate creativity. With one of the highest concentrations of art galleries in London, you can be sure that we’ll mark the occasion here in St James’s. Stay tuned for more!
The Culture:
An Ibiza favourite is about to land in London. Jul’s is the newest addition to St James’s dining scene, offering contemporary Mediterranean cuisine through the lens of sustainability. Grab a friend and test out their inaugural menu over a tipple from the wine wall.
International Women’s Day takes place on Sunday 8th March, and we’re celebrating with a spotlight on some of the neighbourhood’s brightest female voices. Get to know them over on our social channels.
Mother’s Day is coming up, and we’re here to help you mark the occasion with a thoughtful gift or experience for someone who deserves a treat.
The Craft:
Visit Princes Arcade for spring’s latest craftsmanship. Discover Italian wardrobe staples at Luca Faloni, heritage leather goods at SageBrown and handmade gifts and restoration services at Mantidy.
As the season changes, so do our wardrobe picks. Drop by boutique clothing stores like Emma Willis and Mandkhai for expertly crafted pieces that offer longevity while staying true to seasonality.
When it comes to dining, spring brings new flavours and dishes across the neighbourhood. Look out for seasonal menus at Maison François, Milos and Quaglino’s for a sophisticated lunch or late evening out.
However you spend March and April in St James’s, we’d love to see your photos! Share them with us at @StJamesLondon.
